Hey guys, what mod paths are there for the facelifted slk200 engine? (184hp)

I understand based on posts here that the SC pulley mod would not apply since it already comes with a 65mm pulley.

Are there any other performance mods out there readily available?

There is the traditional ECU upgrade.
A device for faster acceleration.
Better flowed headers, racing cats, exhaust systems.

Not forgetting brake and suspension upgrades to control any extra power.

And a host of other goodies.

The real question is how deep your pockets are.

Maybe you should start by outlining your specific performance goal(s)... and your budget? Here on the SLK forum you will find answers to all of your performance needs... but it will cost plenty bcos you are among enablers, so be warned :)

That plan (headers, tune + k&n) and budget sounds pretty reasonable... to start... don't forget the axiom around here... modding is a disease... never ends... good luck with the project, and pls post progress reports here as well.

Go with Kleemann K2 Kit:

The boost kit consists of ECU tune, a new, larger diameter, lightweight crank pulley a high flow air filter and high flow exhaust header with steel sport catalyst.

I'm a happy camper!

Remember cars in certain countries have to meet strict criteria engine size etc
so what used to be in the carribean as an example used to be ........
A few years back, the customs duty for imported used vehicles is listed below:
• 30% for vehicles with engine size of not more than 2000cc

so it paid to import the smallest engine size possible

hence why most cars are very small cc as the govts would not allow bigger .

hence why the op just wants to squeeze a little more power out of the SLK which is understandable .

I think in some Asia markets its the same requirements .

so buying bigger is not an option for many .

plus no harm in tweaking and squeezing a little more bhp from our beloved long ownership of our SLK. ??
