I use Das 03/2010 to code Audio Ntg2.5 options, because after 2012 this possibility is deactivate.
This is appreciate for post-montage units.

Hello Jerry,
in my EU slk R171 2006 i not have this option in rear sam: only USA version ?
Its possible send me a firmware of this rear sam to test ?
Regards
Marco
My R172 does not have this option either. Apparently this applies to a different model (S model from the source).

I was able to change the "octane" and "Chirp on alarm set".

Hope to discover more likePedal Curve;
Note - you may not have these settings as they are firmware specific.

Look for Pedalkennlinie (Pedal curve) under ECU module with DAS developer. There will be four settings KLD 1 to 4, KLD1 is default, KLD2 is as far as you will need to go. Most report a huge improvement... (KLD3 and 4 can trigger limp mode)

I was able to change the "octane"
This setting isn't present on my ROW R171 SLK350, though interestingly enough it did show up in simulation mode.

I do have a setting on the same page in DAS called 'Low Quality Fuel' or some such which was set to 'YES'. I've now changed it to 'NO' so we'll see if that makes any difference.

Found this setting and mine was already set to KLD 4. I did notice what looked like model designations (171, 230, etc) after the KLD numbers so maybe some curves are only suited to specific models?

Cheers,
Brian

BAC Could you post a screen shot of the "Pedal Curve" page in DAS?

I have made some discoveries, for one thing R171 owners have more options. They can use DAS and it has more "Developer Mode" options.

Starting with the R172 model, DAS can not be used, so I am limited to Xentry, which is much different. I am still looking for "Control Module Programming" option in Xentry.

No problemo...

From what I can decipher, the intended use of the various pedal curves are:

KLD 1 - all automatics except models 164, 171, 230 and 251.
KLD 2 - all manual gearboxes except models 164, 171 and 230.
KLD 3 - models 164 and 251.
KLD 4 - models 171 and 230.

Just for good measure, here's the DAS coding summary page showing a few of the options I'm interested in learning more about:

I'm wondering in particular about 'Low fuel grade' and 'RON [ROZ] correction'.

Cheers,
Brian

Yep, got that. Was wondering why it would need to be 'corrected'?

Cheers,
Brian
My guess is that you are correcting for local fuel quality, either good or bad...

By the way I changed mine from default to 93 octane (Xentry little different) and performed SCN online coding of most all my modules, and I am happy to say that everything still works....

Plus my in city driving MPG jumped up from 17.1 to 20.5. Car is running awesome...

I built a 45 amp power supply with an ampmeter this weekend for powering the car when performing diagnostics, I found both my battery chargers (15amp and 7.5 amp) were needed to keep up with all these modules pulling current. I used this power supply and an additional 200 ampmeter to check the calibration of my "Battery Sensor" (My charging issue) and I found the sensor to be very acurate. Mercedes has replaced the "Battery Sensor" with a later part number, so I may need to try that part and see if it changes the charging behavior. SCN coding of the rear SAM had no effect on this charging issue.

Had a good poke through DAS over the last few days, and can see nothing that'll do that ...

Changing the location to ROW gers rid of both front and rear....

A possibility is to remove the bulbs / wiring from the holder and secure it up in the space in front of the wheel arch cover .That way the bulb is still there and working as far as the car is concerned, but not visible to anyone ... (bit of a hack, but it may be your only option)
