Ultimately, the choice of an inside/outside colour combo is a very personal matter. As far as Caspian/Benitoite blue is concerned, I have seen (pictures only) blue/blue, blue/beige, blue/black and blue/grey and they all have their charms. According to MB's recommendations, blue/black, blue/blue and blue/grey are the best combos. Blue/beige (my personal favourite) was only considered a "possible" combo. And of course, blue/red was not recommended at all. I decided to go for the merely "possible" combo (according to MB) and I am not sorry I did. Perhaps the wood trims help make the combination more agreable.

Hmmm... according to this, Capri Blue looks much more "blue" and bolder -- very similar to the Caspian blue car posted by MDLSLK55 above. I'm pretty sure I saw a Caspian Blue sedan at the MB dealership, and it was a very dark, almost black, blue. Now I'm confused again.

Take a look at post #6, I have not seen Capri Blue is person but from what I've seen in the forums is that Capri Blue looks like a dark purple, almost black at night.

What bernd posted doesn't look like the same color to me, I could be wrong.

And you can compare to my Black/Ash two tone with Caspian:

Sorry for the tiny crappy pics, they're from my cell phone when I went to look the first day it came to the dealer...

With all due respect to the green SLK owners, I think I'll pass on the green. While it is a great looking color by itself, it looks almost identical to the millions of the dark green BMW 3 series cars out there.
It might look close to the millions of 3 series cars, but it will be a rare day when you see another Green SLK coming down the road at you. I love my color. :burnout:

Same reason why Orion Blue was discontinued, I've been on the slk forums for a long time and only recall two member's posting pics of their capri blue SLK. Caspian Blue is a better option IMO.
Fortunately for us, it is not disco'd here in Canada yet. Wait...let me quickly check...

Oh **** they changed it from Orion Blue to Jasper Blue. Though I think it's the same colour...

It's not as dark as Caspian/Capri Blue.

I would love to find a Blue/Blue SLK... but I'm limited to pre-owned cars. I have a local exotic/sports car dealer here that goes to all the regional auto auctions and looks for cars his clients want -- he then buys them at auction, and then sells it at cost to his clients, plus $2000 for his fee. It's worth it -- since I can get a perfect condition car for less than the public market. He's at three auctions this week, and will see more than 29,000 cars go by. Since it's Friday and I haven't heard from him, he didn't find what I was looking for this week. There's always next week.
I have a Blue/Blue SLK. Looks almost just like the one Zut posted in the previous page! Here's what it looks like:

I didn't completely expect the interior's Blue to be that bright. I thought it woulda been a deeper blue...less turqoishy. Still, I've never seen another one with this colour interior.

Personally, I'm not a fan of blue/blue. However, I can see how some may like the bold statement. One thing's for sure, do not expect to resell your car quickly with that combo. It is only for a select few.

I do believe your blue leather looks far better than the one on the picture I posted on the previous page. It is like they are two different colours. Perhaps it is just the lighting that does that. I would never buy the blue/blue I posted but I would go for yours anytime! :Banane04::Banane04::Banane04:

Same thing applies for the red interior its not that bright and comes in a nice rich texture.

True. But I shouldn't recommend it for a blue car! I had a red Corinthian leather interior in my old Black Cherry convertible. Superb! The standard SLK red leather goes rather well with black and Iridium silver.

For '09 models the red leather interior is a brighter red, even has a different code number, 817, it used to be 807. When my '09 SLK 350 is delivered end of May, I'll post some pics.

nyboy, actually I find it to be Capri because it has a sort of pepsi blue hue whilst the Caspian is very moody blue that shifts to a slight torquise green and different lightings.

You can see many pictures of Caspian/Benitoite blue and Capri/Tansanite blue at these addresses:

Caspian/Benitoite blue: http://www.mbslk.de/modules.php?op=modload&name=4nAlbum&file=index&do=showgall&gid=352

Capri/Tansanite blue: http://www.mbslk.de/modules.php?op=modload&name=4nAlbum&file=index&do=showgall&gid=347

Not all the photos are in the same lighting, so it is not always easy to compare. As a rule, though, Caspian/Benitoite is greenish and Capri/Tansanite is purplish. Both great colours IMHO.

According to mbslk.de, the car in the foreground is Caspian Blue. Is the car right next to it Capri?

My personal guess would be yes. The one in the foreground has a noticeable greenish hue that the one in the background doens't have.

I wish MB would have a picture of their SLKs in every colours (including Designo) standing side by side so we could appreciate the differences between every shade of the palette.

henryhank yes that is def Caspian blue.

Yes, nice spoting that also in fact there you go a decent comparison amongs the two colours.
