Has anyone ordered and used this screen?

From Amazon. $144. Seems very nice, unobtrusive and easy to install and remove. And a reasonable price.

I've seen the nearly the same screen without the straps but they were sort of permanent.

I saw them on sale. they look okay but obviously not as nice as the OEM.

my only concern is movement in the wind and whether the bottom edge could scrape or scratch the black trim?

just a concern, and not from any personal experience.

i would probably go for the material oem deflector, which can be had second hand for about £70 over here

good luck

a few have and were disappointed by the construction

we recommend our sponsor windrestrictor (see their section and current sale)

I of course recommend the mb oem plexi
expensive, yes but worth it for the look and construction

they sometimes show up in the for sale section

here is mine

oem goes on an off in 5 secs but once on, no need to remove it ever unless to clean the parcel shelf area under it
oem when new in 2005 was $810. On ebay, etc for around $450 - $500 new
members will sell for maybe $300-350
see for sale section for past sales and prices

Nice find. I guess the AMG logo etching that @jbanks15 has on there was done aftermarket?

Have you read that most owners needed to do what you did with the glue to these?

That website is in Dutch. Looks like there is a box to place a bid but not an outright buy. Hmmm. Maybe I'll try that. Thanks.

I had that screen. its worked fine and functional. No problem and nothing to complain about, except it doesnt look as nice as the OEM. I ended up gave it to a member here for free.

I bought this item. Easy to fit and has not caused any issues when driving with the top down. My previous cloth version perished and ripped so I would not advise one of those. The OEM parts look really good but are very expensive.

as posted in a pm to you...see the instructions there and above but if you are missing the 2 mesh inserts for the roll bars you are out of luck

I had a windscreen like that on my '98 SLK, probably for 6 years. I loved it, and once I attached it, it was only removed once or twice. It didn't rattle or harm anything. When I traded up for a 2016 SLK, I left it behind for the new owner. I actually wish the roll bars on the 2016 weren't mesh filled in so I could have another windscreen just like it. The Velcro straps were genius. I bought another plexiglass windscreen for my 2016 and fabricated my own mounting tabs. I do not care for the R172 factory mesh windscreen and frame and will probably sell mine. Cheers....

We bought one last year (with the straps) after giving up on locating the mesh screen OEM at decent price and knowing it would eventually stretch out eventually and keep coming off - which is why we needed to replace it. We are very pleased with this clear plastic wind deflector. We do not like logo's on items, so were happy to find a perfectly clear design. The results are wonderful. We drove from south to north Florida last month with the top down at highway speeds. Conversation was reasonable and we could hear the radio. Good luck with whatever choice you make or have made.

Rolled the dice and ordered. Thanks guys. Definitely not as pretty as OEM but it's $300+ less so fingers crossed.

Never did get an answer to my questions from that Dutch vendor.
