What can I do with this connector?

This is the connector in my 2014 SLK 350 center console, and I'm guessing it's for inputting something to my Comand system, but I don't know...
I'd like to be able to feed audio and (especially) video from my Android phone to the nav screen. Is there an interface cable to that connector that will let me do it? Or is it just an audio feed (seems like a lot of pins for audio only)?

I've tried to read the old threads about mirroring Android screens, but I don't see this connector.

Thanx much.

That is a connector for a iOS device. It requires a MB connector, one of which was just sold (I know because I bought it) by a member here. I paid $15, but they are usually available for about $30. The one I have is for a 30 pin apple connector, but apple used to sell a 30 to lightning adaptor cable. I use my iPhone X with the head unit and can play pandora or any streaming app.

As said its mostly for Apple. The version that supports android has a connector that goes into the headset jack on the phone or whatever that has a normal headset jack. The android version of the cable does have a USB, but neither one on the cable or the USB below the center console jack worked well for me. Both would slightly charge my phone, cable USB when selected on the COMAND said use other USB. The other USB didn't like anything on my phone, but worked with a thumb drive when files were not in folders.

I only used the headset jack on my phone once, it worked, but required the volume to be set MUCH higher than normal, which is a shock if you fail to turn it back down before selecting a different source.

We normally just use a flash drive in the slot below the display panel.

Ebay has both cables for less than $10, make sure you don't get the Audi cable which looks exactly the same but does no work on MB.

Thanx for the replies. It looks like it's a non-starter to mirror my Android screen to the nav screen. Oh, well...I'll just keep using the phone itself for Google Maps navigation. (I listen to SiriusXM radio, so I don't need to be able to play/stream sound.)
If someone does have a solution that gets video to the screen, even if it uses something like a Chromecast that would plug into that connector, I'd be interested.
Thanx again.

I bought a cheap 64G iphone 4S from China, about 50 euros.

Have it cabled there with two dozen movies for those waits for and at a ferry and similar.

Movies are controllable from the Comand, so no need to ever touch the iphone.

It is a bit of a pain to convert movies to apple-o-format, but Handbrake makes this as a batch job, so just a wait.

Does anyone know if there is a convenience telephone adapter for the R171 (facelift) SLK. I'd like to use it for USB or as an iphone charger in the glove box, is this possible? Does the connector have a name, so I can search for connectors on google? Thanks for any help.
