Throttle body upgrade

Hi All,

I've been told that later models (2008>) have a larger throttle body fitted as standard, 82mm as opposed to 76mm on 2004-2007 cars.

Firstly, is this true?
If so, does anyone have experience of this mod?
Is it a straight mechanical swap, or does the mapping need changing?
Does the air ducting/tubing need changing?

From previous experience with other cars, a 6mm increase is fairly significant and should offer some decent gains in hp, response, acceleration etc.

Thanks, Gav

I have the M113 V8 engine 2007, the later model (2008>) supposedly have a larger throttle body - this is part number for the newer/larger unit - A273 141 03 25

I just want to know if it's a straight swap out of the unit, or if I need to change the ducting (currently running the NeedsWings induction kit).

If you want to add power then you want to look at headers and a tune first. That is the big restriction in the system. CAI is just for sound and some lose HP. TB isn't extremely difficult. I am looking to do a 92mm Hellcat TB in the future, but that is a ways out.

Throttle body was a piece of junk. Bought it off of Amazon, seller was lovely auto. Found out when it arrived was from China. Never ever would have bought if I had known that. Lovely auto says return to them and they will refund. I protested to Amazon why I should I have to pay to return their junk that was a fraud. Amazon is refunding my purchased cost.
Throttle body appears to be a cast reproduction on the Bosch, even has all the marking but is a cheap metal casting.
Should have known better.

Rob@needswings informed me that the bolt pattern is not the same.
The one I bought besides being a piece of s... , the bolt pattern was off
Part was stamped with correct part number
