Stock alarm, upgrades anyone?

I would like to upgrade this alarm because I think it is not very effective in protecting the car.

Does anyone have any information about the stock alarm?
And most importantly, has anyone had any upgrade to their SLK r170 alarm?

I'm trying to put my own alarm right now and looking for some assistance also. I bought a Viper 5301 alarm system but there are a lot of missing info on the installation part so I am a little stuck. When I do find one, I will post it here and hope you do the same. Thanks,
