If you could, take pics. as you go and when complete as well. Point out any "tricks and tips" that you learn from the install. I am thinking of doing the same thing and it would help to hear your feed back. I am anxious to see the installed product.

I decided to apply the piece to the cup holder as it seemed the easiest to apply from an access point of view and would allow me to reposition a few times if necessary and get a feel for the application .

We cleaned the dash where the trim was to be fitted with methylated spirits using cotton buds/tips.
A little Black residue came off leaving the dash nice and clean.
The piece went on easily and could be peeled off for repositioning but it was apparent it would stick very well.

Ok so then we cleaned each section of dash one at a time applying the trim as we went.
Took about 1 hour overall being very careful and taking plenty of time.

The end result is very subtle , not in your face type of dash trim.

Both my wife and I are really happy with the end result.

It looks really good! And I like your choice of colour with the Grey (which is why it is subtle). It looks like you still have a few pieces to go, like over the glove compartment, etc..... Are you going to stop where you are or finish it off?

Thank you for the pics.

Thanks Guys,
Just trying to repay in a small way all the help and advice i received from this forum.

Stinger,
can't decide whether or not to fit the other 3 pieces - over the glove box and either side of the steering wheel.
Will make a decision in a few days.

grovefromnh,
like the idea of the silver carbon fibre but i haven't seen one anywhere.

cheers

There is no right or wrong.
It's YOUR choice and what you prefer.

I do like the darker colour dash kits with the dark SLK dash.

No need to dismantle the dash.
Just clean dash with alcohol swabs and apply the trim kit pieces CAREFULLY...
They can be repositioned within a minute or two.

Good Luck

Yep, if that is what you felt the interior was missing, I think you must be very pleased. I say this because it came out beautifully! You were brave, tackled it carefully, and it was a brilliant result. Feel good about it!

I think the color choice was smart too. If only you were designing the interior options for MBUSA...I don't like some of their wood colors. This looks much more sporty!

Hi mb911
Thank you for you post, very much appreciated.

I, too, feel that some of the bright wood trims are garish against the darker trims.

We are really pleased and with a few other mods we have done are almost done .

Well not really as i keep finding other things i'd like to add.
