Hi,

I'm going to change my H7 light bulbs, I don't need the Xenon ones, only a little more power.

In my investigations I came across a Mercedes Lamp Set A 000 998 00 07.

This costs about 40€.

The bulbs are actually Philips X-Treme Power H7:

The main benefits are:

  • 80% more light*
  • 25 meters/30% longer beam*
  • Impressive chromium top and base premium design
    • Chromium cap on the bulbs shields off the black top of traditional lamps, making the bulb invisible inside a reflector when the lamp is unlit
  • Excellent beam performance
  • Street legal (E1) as replacement for conventional lamps
  • Headlamp reflector protected by UV block glass
  • MB approved
*compare to standard lamp (N 400809 000007)

If you buy the Philips X-Treme Power H7 (no MB branding) you can get them for about 30€ ;)

In these ones:

Even the box is the same, the only difference is the brand on the paper sleeve. ;)

I installed the bulbs on the the low beams and they are great!

More light, and a whiter beam.

Yes, those are surely Philips X-Treme Power H7s. MUCH better bulb than stock, just not HID level of course.

IMHO, the car should come with something like that bulb. Even physically looks higher quality than a plain H7 generic.

I put these in my high beams at the same time I put HID in the low beams. They make a huge difference over the stock halogens (which were also Philips, by the way). I bought the X-tremes on fleaBay. I also put them in my fog lights with equally good results.

I searched high and low and the consensus seemed to be that the Philips X-tremes were just a touch ahead of the pack.
