Caliper Trim Plate

Hi all,

Had my front pads changed and the mechanic removed and broke the caliper trim plate (sample photo below).

Any idea if this is can be got separately from the dealer or what it wold be called to search for it elsewhere?

Cheers
Paul

I am pretty sure you can’t buy them separately, you have to get the whole caliper as they are not meant to be removed. Some people have removed them to paint the callipers only to find they cannot be refitted .
I might be wrong and some one else might know differently.

Do they actually hold anything in place?
If not these:

may be suitable as a temporary measure.

No they don’t hold anything they are just pose value I suppose . The item you show is to put on the caliper plate the op has broken , to fresh ion them up , not the actual part . I think.

Yes, simply a sticker. Much depends on how 'broken' the plate is.
Personally, if I had access, I would use the other one as a pattern and get a replacement sand cast in aluminium. It's surprising how faithful to the original sand casting can be.
Failing that, I'm sure a replacement could be machined from solid too.
Might be worth someone having a go since these don't seem to be available as a separate part judging by the number of searches for them.
