I'm searching for led indicator bulbs for my SLK R171 (front and rear).
I've searched the forum and I've seen someone mention Cree indicator bulbs. Where can I find them? Is it only a bulb (with build in resistor) or does it come with an extra resistor assembly?
- LED
- Amber/Yellow color
- Build in resistor (error-free canbus)
e-bay for example has a lot of choices, but which are the better ones?
I think it's fair to say an LED replacement will never look quite the same as the purpose-built/designed lamp; however I like the crispness of the flash. Yes, they flash at the same time/rhythm as far as I can see.

The latest technology to come out of the labs over at Twenty20 introduces hyper-flashing resistant 581 LED car bulbs that are also CAN-Bus compatible.

ABD have an indepth comparison on led's on their website. And are official distributors for Osram and Philips, Twenty20 are in same league, I believe they all use Cree chips.
For latest technology update, 3 year gaurantee! I've just fitted these. No canbus error and flash at normal rate, expensive at £55 for 4 😱
You have to like light cos these are blindingly BRIGHT, can barely see the mirror repeater, they drown the headlight! May have to swap them back for MOT.
I had to shave a fraction off the 4 tabs on rears, fronts went in fine.
They look amazing but whilst they're off you can still see a slight orange reflection of the chips, but not as bad as the filament type eggy bulb. And the flash is a tap-tap effect not a fade~~in and~~out.
Precisely the reason for that remark, I totally agree and isn't this what these forums help us with. I'll post same in reviews on the ABD site. To help those going in blindly so to speak. As one would assume this product is legal.
I can't yet judge fully until I take the car out.
There are new vehicles with what many consider to have dazzlingly bright lamps. I'd prefer not to be in that bracket.
I'll be pissed if I have to return another (unbranded) set for unsuitability .
Hopefully this article will bring on board a solution for us who prefer LED's.
I'll update, after MOT in a few days.
Regards Steve.
Very bright LED indicators passed MOT.
Note:- you can buy Amber bulbs with white chip should a clean light cluster be required.
