It seems that the R170 headliner is discontinued and out of stock in all the Mercedes warehouses. Even Ebay sellers that show a few on hand actually don't seem to have them. So I'm looking for a known source, or someone who is parting out an R170 and has a good headliner for sale. Would appreciate any help anyone can throw my way. I have found some on Ebay, but they are cranking up the price from the usual $380 to over $500. I suppose it is "supply and demand", but feels more like scalping. May have to try re-upholstering the existing headliner if a source cannot be found. Maybe a microsuede (alcantara) would be a nice upgrade to the existing vinyl.
Stumbled across this site https://www.headlinerexpress.com/import-headliners-1936-2012/mercedes-5/page/2/ They sell new headliners or reconditioned headliners in light grey. I don't think the sand beige is available on these, but you can call and ask. Or you can send them your existing headliner and they'll recover it for you in sand beige, ash grey or black.
Anybody have any suggestions for where to obtain a cream headliner for a R170 in Europe that does not cost more than 3-400 euro ??
Tips or suggestions as to where to look would also be very much appreciated.
Thank you for the suggestion, I got the Dutch word for such sites.
Onderdelen or autosloperij and autodemontage
So am hopefully going to find something in these places that is in good condition!
