Service in New Mexico or Texas & Maybe AZ

I wanting to get my 2012 SLK350 navigation maps updated, but I have read that my COMAND might need an update also, because I am on V12 and V18 is the new update.

I live in a small town in SW Colorado and the closes dealer is about 3 hours one way in Santa Fe NM. About 2.5 years ago I was getting my service done at Schumacher in Scottsdale, loved the service the first 2 times I went there, but then a service writer really pissed me off. He wrote up my front tires as being bad and they where, but in the service ticket he wrote that I didn’t want them replaced, but he NEVER ask me and I didn’t know anything about this until I picked up the car. I ask to speak to the service manager, but he was gone for the week and never returned my call. So it ruined the rest of my trip because it was late Thursday and so Discount couldn’t get tires until Monday, so I will not go back there. So I call Santa Fe MB and they can’t get me in for about a month & half, the receptionist wouldn’t even put me through to a service writer, a second call got me a service writer who hasn’t yet return my call. An Albuquerque service writer would not give me any idea of the cost or time to get this update doneand they are 4 hours each way and just not feasible to drive that far to find out when or how much.

In Sept, I am going to Albuquerque for something else so if someone knows a person at the dealership they think might help me, that would be great. In Oct, I am going to Canyon Lake TX and the Houston area. I will make and take the time to get this work done if you know a good dealer.

Thanks in advance for any help and/or contact that helps me get this done

Schuhmacher Mercedes is now a part of the Penske Group. If you making a trip to Phoenix I would give Arrowhead a try. The are the old Phoenix Motor Company and they always had top notch Service. I also did hear that MB of Tucson is pretty good. Of Course keep in mind what pee,s me off might not bother you or vise versa.

Agree with the part
Thank You for that information, I will wait a couple of days and see what other post, then maybe give them a call. I could take an extra couple of days if needed.

So about a week ago I wrote MB about the lack of their dealers to want to service my car, so today I got a call from the Santa Fe & Albuquerque dealers service departments waiting to get me in as soon as possible. I now have an appointment with MB of Santa Fe for Sept 6. The cost is a little higher than I thought, but because of them giving me a 11 am appointment, I shouldn’t have an over night stay which saves me money

If you still need it on your way to Houston call MB of San Antonio and ask for chrissy in service. Just mention u were referred by a local customer. Their service dept is lightyears better than any other I have dealt with.

dealers

I have used two. One in Mercedes-Benz of Denver and the other one in Mercedes-Benz of El Paso. Both did what I need done.

The two here in New Mexico you mention I did not get a rosy feeling from either.

Thanks for your information

I am thinking that they will be doing it right, this is a part of the letter from MB
“Please be assured that we will document the experience you have had for internal review to assist the dealership in identifying where it has not met customer expectations. Our apologies that this happened but we appreciate the opportunity to correspond and wish you many miles of safe, pleasant driving.”

I am thinking that if I write them back and tell them that I was treated poorly, it will not go over well.

I just want friendly, fair priced if that is possible from a dealer and good service, I really don’t think that is asking too much. Right now the service person I am dealing with is Tracy, very nice on the phone. In the past I have used Goode’s in Scottsdale, really like them, nice owner and people working there and would recommend them in a heart beat, but they said to use a dealer for this as MB doesn’t support them with COMAND if that is needed.

I believe we all make mistakes, but it’s how we correct that mistake and make it right, this is why I am giving MB of Santa Fe a chance

Tomorrow I find out if this dealer does what it says it will and if I get the service I need or if they are just full of BS. I took videos of how my system will not play my music correctly.

Sometimes you just have to wonder why. The people at MB of Santa Fe where really great to me. I got there around 11 and was out by 1:30 with a nice clean car. The service manager is looking into a COMAND update, but they could hook up the car because their connection was down, their words. They only charged me a total of $199 for everything which I thought was great.

I didn’t think to check the update, because A) I didn’t think to do it right then, had a list of stuff I had to get done and was in a rush, B) because it’s the current update, but believe it or not, I now have V17, NOT V18

I am thankful for the big discount of cost and I can live with V17 until V19 or V20 comes out, but I would like to know why V18 wasn’t loaded, did they just grab the wrong memory stick or is that all they had. I was told that once they find out about the COMAND then I can come back in and they will fit the car in at my convenience. Time will tell how this will end

MB of Santa Fe called me last night and apologize for the error and will correct the problem at my convenience, so I will be going back to them for my next needed service

I want to update this, I went back this week to MB of Santa Fe to get the transmission flush/service and diff fluid changed. Larry the service manager was great to deal with and I will be going back. Last fall they where good, this They where outstanding. They have more techs now and I will be going back if anything needs the dealer
