I'm throwing this out there for discussion for UK R170 owners. Maybe this is not the appropriate board. Just wondering if anyone is planning to hang on to their R170 over the next 4-5 years or beyond? it's creeped to four figure numbers for registered owners. The stats are currently hovering around the 8500 registered vehicles. When I bought mine it was around 10500 licensed vehicles. If the trends continue for the next 4 years we could be entering into 5000 or below licensed territory.

At what point do you start looking at Classic Car insurance?

Any top tips for maintenance beyond the usual annual servicing as numbers get lower, maybe the SLK 200 and SLK 320 owners can comment, since you folks are already into lower numbers.

The https://www.howmanyleft.co.uk/?utf8=✓&q=slk is a great website for drilling down for various stat's on cars.
Every quarter when the new figures come out, always brings up more discussion on our 406 Coupe Forum..

If You go to companies like "Adrian Flux Insurance" and "Chris Knott Insurance" they will give discounts for belonging to a Car Forum, plus happy to except modified cars.. :tu:
But the main thing they offer is an agreed value on Your SLK, which if You own a pristine example and have spent £1000's in renovation, might stop the car being written off with one minor knock..... :|
