Well, to be accurate, 10 SLKs actually were tucked away in a secure parking garage in downtown Seattle for 24 hours so their owners could partee...!
We met at the Roosevelt Ale House in north Seattle for a great lunch with fabulous selection of beer. We soon departed for a beautiful 2 hour scenic drive on a sunny 60° afternoon. We cruised, top down, around Green Lake, thru Golden Gardens and Shilshole Bay on Puget Sound with beautiful views of the Olympic Mountains and downtown Seattle.
Upon checking into the hotel, we went to our respective rooms to set up bar for the SLK Mad Hatter Progressive Cocktail Party. Everyone donned their mad hats and made their way to a suite where we learned the format of the party.
Each room prepared their favorite cocktail with tasty snacks. At 18 minute intervals, we rotated from room to room carrying our SLK logo rocks glass to sample fellow SLKer's favorite cocktails! People went every which direction so one rarely had the same people in the same room at the same time. Everyone got to enjoy everyone else for at least 18 minutes! ☺
After sampling all recipes with snacks and conversation we walked (barely...?) across the street to dinner at Buenos Aires Argentine Grill and Tango House. An exSLKent meal was had by all and the evening was topped off with a late night cab ride to the theater to enjoy Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland in 3D.
Next morning we were up and out to enjoy breakfast at the very first Starbucks located in Pike Place market. We meandered around the market enjoying the shops and views and met for lunch at Sound View Café before heading home with fond exSLKent memories of another fond SLK weekend, a recipe booklet of all the cocktails we sampled and our souvenir SLK logo rocks glass.
Everyone decided this was so fun we need to do it again next year!
