17 SLKs Replace Amber Side Markers with Clear!

It was an exSLKent day for SLK beautification!
Sunny and sixty degrees brought 17 beauties out to switch out the side marker lights.
Some also replaced their whip antennas with short stubby ones.
This included two newbies from SLKWorld who enjoyed their SLK NW premier...
Welcome David and Elliot!
Thanks SLK Store for all the necessary parts!

Brakes were measured, wheels cleaned and polished, drinks and snacks provided, lunch served and exSLKent camaraderie served up for dessert!

Following the work and meal 15 SLKs headed out, tops down, for a scenic drive in the country on back roads through Smokey Point, Arlington and Granite Falls.

Our beautiful SLKs just got more beautiful!
Or as it was overheard "they got all pimped out..."

Had a great time, we should do the same event with SmartTop modules sometime, the drive was fantastic on a perfect NW sunny day.

Was anyone OCB enough to do the aluminum foil method to cover the 3 holes?

Link to method if interested, patience required.

Did anyone use the error-free LEDs?

Nope.

ALL replacements were foil lined as seen in the photo of Brenda sitting at the kitchen table working on them. It was time consuming!

By the time it was suggested our group order had been placed.

Good idea!

We had a group tech session back in 2006 to install the vario roof for the R170s which was no small task at the time.

Many of us already have the SmartTop, but it's worth looking into offering a session for those who haven't purchased one due to installation phobias...

Thanks

Was exSLKent to see your SLK come out to play on Saturday!
And yes, great to meet you too...
