Wheel change question

Hi, I have a 2012 SLK (R172) with standard 17" wheels and have been offered the following 2 x 9J x 18H2 ET54 with 265/35 ZR18 Michelin PilotSport 4

2 x 8.5J x 18H2 ET48 with 245/40 ZR18 Michelin PilotSport 4

Does anyone know if they will actually fit OK. I know the offsets are different but would they still fit safely ? Thanks for any help

Methinks a 265/35/18 rear on 9” wide rims would fit OK especially when the offset is that far inside the fenders at +54. That is IMHO.

As for fronts, a 245/40/18 on 8.5” rims (+48 offset) will be the max fit. May be better to go down to 235/40/18s just to make sure no rub of front fenders occur with the setup.

Good luck.

Omo
