Brake Options

Just been out in my R172 350 as the weather for the Bank Holiday in the UK is fantastic, but after about 10 minutes of 'spirited' driving, I had some pretty serious brake fade. So, I was wondering...

Does anybody have any recommendations for decent replacement pads? Is it worth doing the disks too? (I couldn't tell you when they were last replaced, I've not owned the car for long). I'm not looking for a setup that I can't use on a day-to-day basis, but I'm open to suggestions.

Also, is it worth investing in any particular brake fluid?

Dot 5 fluid.

@frogfoot has played with his brakes I think.
They don't seem to smoke following Davie anymore.

I highly recommend Akebono ceramic brake pads. They're quiet and barely any brake dust.

Yea I have changed all my brakes in the last few months :-)

New front merc discs with EBC red stuff pads

New rear Brembo plus drilled discs with brembo plus rear pads

Also changed to high temp brake fluid , I have done over a 1000 miles of hard driving this week and the brakes have been very very good
