Wheel advice please

Could the educated assist the uneducated please

Will the following be suitable for my vehicle....

8 1/2 J x 18 EH2 ET30
9 1/2 J x 18 EH2 ET33

Alloys are from a 2003 SL and would be looking to fit my 2005 SLK55

If they are compatible, even with appropriate spacers..... what size/profile of tyres would be recommended... currently respectively shod with...

255/40/ZR18
285/35/ZR18

Many thanks in advance....

Wheel size and offset works, but the tire size is too wide and also too large of diameter. I would run 225/40/18 front and 255/35/18 rears. I have 235 on the front and 3mm more offset and they can still rub slightly. I just put 265 on the rear and it is extremely tight, but your offset would be about perfect so you could do that if you want.
