New shocks all around, $150

I purchased a well neglected SLK230 a few months ago and with a lot of help from the forum I'm working through the back maintenance and other challenges. Besides wanting to get the car back it's former glory without taking it to the shop, I'm also trying to do it cost effectively as it seems silly to over invest in a vehicle with limited resale value.

Under the idea that any new shock absorber would be better than the 20 year old original, I happened upon the Maxorber on eBay. (Purchased from Sanlongparts). I was looking for KYB as I had those on my 944 and they were entirely adequate and the price was right. The Maxorber externally looks just like the KYB and it also has the exact same part number that KYB specifies for the R170 (KG 4731) for the fronts. Also, the hardware pack is identical. I'm not sure if it's a KYB under another seller's name or some kind of knock off, but at $38 for the pair I figured there's not much to lose.

Unfortunately, if Maxorber makes the KG 4732 for the rear I was not able to find them anywhere and ended up ordering the KYB KG 4732 from JC Whitney off eBay for $107 for the pair.

I've got a few hundred miles of city and highway driving on them and it's a big improvement over the old original Mercedes units. I'm really pleased with the ride and to do the whole car for about the same price as one Bilstein seems like a great deal.
