55 Brakes on a 350 R172

I am currently looking at a BBK for my 350 172, as i wanted coloured calipers and i will need discs & pads soon anyway.
I have seen the k sport kit for a pretty good price, but i thought id call MB for a cost on the 55 calipers, discs and pads, but they have told me that they don't do a retrofit kit and they don't recommend it.

Has anyone done it? As i would prefer the OEM+ look.

Thanks.

Not aware of such on the 172, but if you do a search there are a few threads on the 171.

If memory serves, on the 171 you needed 18" wheels, but no idea for 172.

Thanks, I know it can be done on the 171, but I haven't seen any info on if it can be done on the 172, I have all the part numbers and can just give them a reg of a 55, but just doing research at the moment into options and I doubt a parts person would even know if alternative parts would fit or not.

it might just be easier to go with k sport and probably cheaper.

Thanks, although that's just confused me even more, I'm pretty sure they will fit though, but I think they only come in silver price form MB is about Ł1450 for 2x calipers, pads and 2x 1 peice disks.

I might have a look at the slc43.
