Alloy wheel centre caps

I have the basic 16" wheels and standard R170 alloys fitted to Silkie. Unfortunately I've lost one of the centre caps on the rear left wheel and I'm trying to decide:
  • Do I buy one second-hand (used) original cap - or -
  • Do I buy a set of four new caps (non-MB)
I'm tempted to go the first option as the others are all OK and one more used one will not stand out so much. I do also have to arrange for the alloys themselves to be refurbished at some point and maybe that's the time to think about replacing all the caps when that's done.

My question is: are the non-MB sets of four on eBay any good? Has anyone fitted them and were they OK?

Thanks

Hi Martin, I had some centre caps from EBay before I got my current alloys and the quality was okay. If the others are showing their age I'd just buy a full set of replica caps.

So the badges arrived early - and despite the rain and the other jobs on my list this evening ... the annoying 'white' badge was carefully pried off and replaced. I now have four PROPER wheel centre caps.

Thanks for the tips. Silkie is fully dressed once more!
