Brakes squeal after replacing
I don't post often, as my 2006 SLK350 seems to be a pretty solid car. But I recently replaced the brake pads on all 4 wheels. I replaced the front ones, and drove ~ 2 weeks. Then I replaced the rear ones. Then the brakes started squealing at very low speeds. Like metal-to-metal. I did not turn the rotors or replace them - maybe that's the problem. Dunno. Anyway, the squeal is coming from the FRONT per my wife's ears. I cannot tell. I've taken all 4 wheels off and checked everything, but all looks perfect. There are NO wear-bar indicators, so it's not something that simple. Of course I don't hear them at higher speeds, but they might be squealing at higher and I just can't hear it. But I never hear the squeal until I am almost stopped at 2-5 MPH.
I've check fluid, brakes, all bolts, etc, so I don't know what else to check. I've done searches on here, and even rode in reverse 10-15 MPH and braked hard, and that seemed to help a little, but not completely.
I can't stand having such an expensive car that sounds worse than anything else I have ever owned.
Anyone have any other ideas? New rotors? Short of having someone steal this thing?
