Hydrographics

Has anyone here tried hydrographic on their wheels? I have been watching videos on this and I love the idea of the Carbon Fiber graphic on my wheels. I just don't know how durable it is. I know they do it a lot, but I'm wondering if anyone in our Forum has had experience with it.

@Stinger did it on the deck behind the roll-bars (CLICKY!), using a carbon fiber pattern in fact. Of course that part of the car doesn't get the beating that the wheels do.

I made some calls and foundout its not a great idea. You risk too much damage when getting tires mounted. Off to the powdercoater!

Powder I have personal experience with (see avatar picture ). It is very durable!

After 2 years of satin black powder coating on my wheels, and several tire mountings, the job still looks perfect. The only tiny, tiny chips are from hard debris impact, but I don't think there's any wheel finish that will repel that kind of thing.
