Alloy wheel re painting

Hi all
Been looking into getting my four spoke alloys re powder coated and been offered a loan set of wheels while I get mine re coated . All in 260 . I think this is quite a good deal as I still get to use the car while being done. Takes about a week to do.
Can get them done for 160 but will only be able to get one done at a time and will need a new space saver at the end of it I guess.
Thanks for any help

Hi All

I would say that 260 is a very good deal , Have you seen any of there other work , does this include completely stripping back to bare alloy . If it the old laptap firm on the A41 they do good work . I think I paid all most twice that but had 3 out of 4 rims made round again & diamond cut edge lip .

Cheers

Andy

Hi Andy

I have seen a couple of rims they have done on a car they was selling and they looked quite good . Its at W.D.M CARS LTD indy M B specialists I have been using in Perry Barr . They loan the wheels and send yours off . So not entirely sure where they send them. I do have one that is a little misshaped so I will have to check on this too . Front two are very badly scraped but the backs are not as bad ( funny as the backs are bigger rims ) .
I am very tempted to get them done there but I will have to enquire if they take the tyres off and strip /repair damage before they powder them.
There are also companies around the midlands that u take the car in and they take the wheels off and do them same day .Don't know if they would be rushing them to get them done in a day though.
I will do some more looking around first .
Cheers for reply

Hi all

@ BP I had mine sorted here Alloys Wheels Leicester | Perfection Group | Alloy Wheel Refurbishment/Polished Wheels/Diamond Turned Wheels/Alloy Wheels/Trim Repair they have a place in the B'ham area they say they have 'courtesy cars' , may be one to think about , They had my car for about 3 days , But I was running 3 cars back then ,so not a problem .

Remember your front wheels are able to turn not like the rears .

Cheers

City powder Coaters in digbeth will refurb your wheels for 80 without tyres or 120 with tyres ,, it's usually a few days turn around but they offer a 1 day service as well ,, I have had 4 maybe 5 sets of wheel done by them and always had a great job done .. I have paid double and treble the price elsewhere and had no better ... I have 2 sets of wheels in my garage that they have done if you want to see them . 18 " mono blocks in sliver and set of 17" antara's in a black sparkle finish .. I don't know if they have loan wheels ???

Hi All

Only one other point or tip , If you are getting new tyres to go with your newly refurb rims , get them to put the new tyres on DO NOT take your nice new looking rims to a tyre shop . As the refurb people will make sure they do no damage to there work , if if they do they can put it right before you see them .

Cheers

Andy

Hi and thanks for the reply's

I got a good set of Michelin tyres on with plenty of tread and in good condition so just need the wheels doing really. But is a very good point about the tyres. Been there before with good alloys and shoddy tyre workshops. (nice tyre lever ring left on a very nice alloy) .
Thanks Yuri . I will have to check them out too as you have had a few sets done there they should be worth a look.
And let me know when you are having the next meet as I will try to come up and meet you guys.
Cheers again for the help and advice

Cool Wheels

Mine were done before I purchased it.
The previous owner paid 280.
He used RIM TEC in Kent, too far away I know but just for price comparison information.
