Question Winter Wheels & Tyres

I have a set of Winter Wheels & tyres I had on my SL

I was going to sell but a thought will they fit my 2009 SLK 350

17" x 8.5J with 35mm Offset Tyres 255/45/17

Anyone know ?

I know I could try & fit them & see but just thought one of you knowledgeable lot might save me a few hours work !

Cheers

Paul

Dunno. The winter tyres *I* will be using if we have six inches of snow and ice to contend with are the Pirrelli Scorpion A/Ts on my Discovery.

I seriously doubt it.

I tried 8.5 with an offset of 35 and 235 tyres on mine and they rubbed agains the front suspension. I'm pretty sure 255 will be much to wide with that offset. So you will have to use spacers but I think they will stick then out to much sideways.

Furthermore, if they are from an SL >2001 I think they will have holes for 14 mm wheelbolts whereas your SLK has 12 mm holes. The seating for 14 mm bolts is different than that for 12 mm bolts so you will have to use special 12 mm bolts with a head for a 14 mm bolt.

On the rear 255 will fit easily, that will be no problem.

All and all it will be quite a challenge I think.
I would sell them and buy a set of proper fitting rims/tyres for my SLK.
Just my 2 cents.
