Tire pressures?

Hi all

My 2005 slk350 has 225/45/R17 91W front and 245/40 R17 91W rear, however the gas cap placard says they should be 225/40 R18 front and 245/35 R18 rear.

Im a tad lost has previous owner tried lowering it via wheel size,?

Just trying to figure the proper tire pressures

The tires are Michelin Primacy MXM4

Thanks

Not sure what you mean.
225/45/R17 gives a total diametre of 24.97 inch
225/40/R18 gives a total diametre of 25.09 inch

245/40/R17 gives a total diametre of 24.72 inch
245/35/R18 gives a total diametre of 24.75 inch

That's a difference you won't even notice, seems perfectly right to me,fully compliant with MB recommendations.

MB on the SLK for some reason of it's own put two different tire size labels, one on door jam and one on gas door. What you see is what MB did and is like that on SLK. One label has one size and the other a different size. I found this on my 2007 350.
