.. .. .. and bearing in mind that most SLKs have different sized rear wheels, you would never put the worn ones from the back onto the front.

The legal limit for minimum depth of the tread on your tyres is 1.6 millimetres, across the central ľ of the tread around the complete circumference of the tyre, at least in the UK.

what depth is your threshold to change? I tend to be more conservative without being obsessed, what do you do?

Normally I change Tires just before they get to the marker.
I Think the marker on most brands is on 2.0 mm!
