New Tire Time

The weather is getting nicer and time to put back on my summer tires. Unfortunately they need replacing, so I am looking at upgrading the tires.

I want to stay with the stock 16 inch wheels and -

change the fronts from 205/55R16 to 215/55R16 or maybe 225/55R16
and
change the backs from 225/50R16 to 255/50R16

If I understand correctly, the stock rims are 7 inches wide for the front and 8 inches for the back.

According to Tirerack, the new tires I want (BFGoodrich g-Force Sport COMP-2) the fronts work on rims from 6-8 inches with 7 inch being optimum for both choices and the backs are 7-9 inches with 8 inch being optimum. On paper this seems to work just fine, am I missing something?

Just make sure the circumference of the tires are all within or less than 3% or you can have problems with cruise control and ESP. Check this site to check sizes.

http://www.rimsntires.com/specspro.jsp

Look at the speedometer differences to see if it is less than 3%
