Ships travel through the Panama Canal all the time. But this time, there was disaster. One of the mule vehicles that pull the ships through the canal found itself being crushed by the huge container ship it was pulling.

Just went through the Panama canal last month.
The "mules" are set up on both sides of the lock and are supposed to center ships in the canal so that they dont bump and dammage the walls. Here it looks like the ship was coming in at an angle. Probably the pilot should have kicked in the aft thrusters to straighten the ship in the lock.
Wonder if they have determined who is at fault yet

Clearly, someone wasn't paying attention to detail(s). Hate to sound so negative, but that seems to be the norm anymore. Apathetic laziness. :(
