Okay, first off, I'll admit that I'm rubbish with doing things on cars including the simplest of tasks, (probably evidenced by my 'just left of stupid' questions put on the forum). So in for a penny in for a pound.

When some work was done on the car by an authorised Mercedes engineer, the windscreen wiper arms were incorrectly attached so that they 'rotate' in a wrong arc. I was going to go to my local dealer and ask them to do a 'quick' job, to be told that they would be chargeing £166.88 an hour for any work. I politely declined.

Is it a simply job, can Halfords (here in the UK) or any of the high street car fitters do it, or is it more involved with alignment equipment etc?

(right, you can collectively groan now)
Thanks for and advice you can give ...

Looks like I'm going to have to do so... with an hour and half drive away! (Which was the main reason for being reluctant in dragging our lard arses all the way there for what I assume is a 5 minute job).

Out of curiosity, why did they take the arms off in the first place? Are they the same people you bought the car from for £15000?

No we had the illuminated door sills installed and the work was more detailed than first envisaged by a different authorised Mercedes service centre who specialise in Mercedes Car electronics. It wasn't noticed till we hit rain a week later. So... nothing to do with the purchase price!
