For comfort at 70mph and still being able to talk to Your passenger the best wind deflector for the R171 is the Plastic OEM one, un-fortunately they are so good that that sell for £250 to £300 ebay... :|
I've got a deflector fitted to my SLK 170 that is full width and lower than the boot/trunk line. This gives the very best in sealing and wind deflection. It has a Mercedes logo and has programmable illumination for night use. It didn't cost anything like the amount quoted. Just be patient and search the Internet. A word of warning, though. There is an inferior version that is thinner in section and is flimsy, especially at speed. The screen I have is about 7 mm thick and is very robust.
Agree that the R171 OEM version is expensive, but having moved up to the R172 - Even with My little mod that I've done, the R172 "Air Guards" are poor in comparison.... :frown:

I don' t want to step in the middle, but if when all is said and done you still have it, I would gladly take it off your hands. (of course remitting the requisite price and S&H)
I've asked Trev to clarify (I thought he was just kidding), so we should perhaps wait until he confirms his intentions, but I would still assume I will want yours 0

OK, let me know - it's just that my dad broke his hip last week and I'm busier than a cat burying $**t at the moment, so won't deconstruct my garage if you're sorted!
Not to get in anyone's way but if possible, I would like to get on the waiting list for one (LOL). I just got my SLK280 this past Monday and it doesn't have one.

Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
I have a 2006 SLK55 AMG and recently both of my door speakers blew. I've looked in past pages but could not find any discussions on my topic.
My car is at 73,000 miles and I intend on keeping my car "forever"....I could just replace the Harmon Kardon...
Well,
I did a number of searches on PSE and Central Locking Pump repair/replacement but can’t find what I need for my 2006 SLK280.
Key fob doesn’t work. Fuse replacement blew again. Center console lock/unlock buttons work fine. Tried to find the PSE in the trunk to no avail. Pulled all the...
Anybody ever hear of this stuff- GTechniq Crystal Serum Light? Supposed to provide incredible depth and shine to your car's paint for 3-5 years. I'm tempted, but the qualified detailer-only version is supposedly only removable (if you screw up the application) by wet-sanding your paint with...
I'm not very mechanically minded. This is more to get people's point of view rather than say my car has a fault. I have an automatic SLK200 2009 model. Very occasionally I notice that from a standing start that there is a slight delay before I move forward. I appreciate that an automatic gearbox...
