Currently need to replace rear tyres 2007 slk200
Rears are Avon zv5 currently but will replace with zv7 which are the current tyres.

The rears at present have a speed rating 225 50 16 92 v Avon zv 5

The fronts are Avon zv7 91v

However the new rears are only available rated 92w

Is it an issue mixing tyre speeds

@cougarking
v rated is up to 149 mph, w rating up to 168mph
Unless you are planning to drag race, so long as you stay below 149mph you will be fine.............

As far as I am aware it is always ok to put on tyres that are over rated, the only way that is not good is the other way round,eg under rated.
My car is supposed to have W rated tyres but they are difficult to get in the size i need but a lot more choice in Y rated so that's what it gets!
