Yes, they have moved up in price in what seems like one big jump - rather than gradually but steadily upward. They stayed in the $18K to $25K range for a long time - then jumped up to $50K - and now well over $65K. I think the price increase reflects two major factors - inflation {or devaluation of the US Dollar}, and the fact that the more people put into them to keep them up - or refresh - or restore them - the more they expect to get back out of them.

Beautiful cars - but always seem to be "desired" by a somewhat narrow demographic. Grand Touring more so than Sports Car - and the buyer has to be able to afford M/B prices. You don't see too many owners under 45 years of age {there are a few}. Supply of really nice examples is limited - but then so is demand.

The Dealer can "ask" whatever he wants - but most of these in very good but not near Perfect condition - will trade hands closer to $50K today. A perfect, completely factory original example with less than 20K miles - detailed to Pebble Beach standards might go over $100K.
