This was found under the driver's seat on the car I just bought. I have no idea if it comes form the interior or if it was put in the cockpit so it wouldn't get lost.
There is an MB logo on it and the number 315948
and on the line below a number '3'
and below that there is this: >PC<

The center post has thingies (professional term) on it that will keep it snapped in a hole.

If you know what it is, please let me know!

Thank you.
Here are some pictures: in the last one the O.A. length is 1-3/4".

Yup, right location, different part. And no, I haven't checked the passenger side for a similar part. You can bet I'll do it tomorrow. Hopefully it is not (edited) as important as Andy's was.

Nope, I don't (see it). (JB, you gotta stop posting so quickly, I can't keep up:confused: ). Did you notice the big arrow on the sloped top side? Don't know what it means, but Mercedes wouldn't have put it there without a reason.

I finally found out what it is !!

It is the limit device for the seat movement. It snaps into the seat rail holes to stop the seat from traveling too far.

But, if you wanted it to stop a little sooner than the limits, this can be put in any holes in the seat track. I think I might use it that way because I like my seat-back tilted back fairly far, and the top of the seat-back hits the roll bar area first. By moving these up a couple of inches it would stop that. Of course, I could also put them in the front of the seat track so it wouldn't move forward too far. That would stop my wife from taking the car.:D:D Yeah, I know, I'm bad.
