Not pretty, but will have to do until I can find another head light :(.

I replaced the Xenon igniter a few months ago, but like for others, the screws was so rusted that they broke.

Super glued it there, but that didn't last long. It stopped working only a week or so after.. Haven't had the energy to take a look - wheel off, wheel lining off, light off - it takes a while :). But today was a good day to do it, wasn't SOO hot this morning. Although, because it took quite a few hours to try to figure out how to solve it, it got VEEEEEERYYY hot!! :D

Turned out the igniter had "just" shaken loose, so got it done eventually, it will probably/hopefully last a few weeks/months. They're not cheap, and not easy to find either!

It needs changing anyway, someone had put in some steel angle bracket there for whatever reason I can't fathom (the two holes at the right of the first picture) and the little "lip" that holds the sprayer (just to upper left of the igniter) have broken off..

Btw, is the light itself the same between Halogen and Xenon, or are they different? I hate WIS, can't find ANYTHING in there! :D

having driven mine a bit last week, I noticed that the brakes were sticking a bit, and being a bit jerky in application and release. Suspecting the pedal assembly rather than the brake hardware ( easist suspect on the list) I loosened off the "knee-panel" below the steering wheel, unscrewed the " foot-panel" and removed it from above the pedals, and got wiggy with my angled mirror, torch and some ptfe spray with a long nozzle. Much swearing, bruised ribs ( it is a contortionist's task this, not for an average middle-aged bloke), and spraying of ptfe in hope, I eventually got the panels back together. The curse of the Haynes manual applied. Replacement is not a reversal of the removal procedure, as they came apart easily, but would not reconjugate willingly. After today's drive, the problem has gone away , forever I hope. Maybe I will just do a scatter-shot of ptfe up the slot for the brake pedal every few months in the hope it will keep it all tickety-boo.

Had a look at the car yesterday after it spat its dummy out and dint play ball.
Findings... no weights on osr wheel....play in nsr wheel bearing and the odd one osf wheel bearing hub slightly bent causing brake vibration.
2 jobs done easy and a hub on order.
Plus put air filters back in

So 25 years ago Today - DaDude was registered with his 1st owner.
It was time for a nice rub and bubbles and he is well, he can have a drink now :) as @Slk-razy asked few shots attached:

Unfortunately it was too windy and next to the drive have rubbish from........ so, couldn't polish the driver's headlight, door and...there is no absolute happiness, as we all know!

Funny you should say that. I was about to ask @BaD_81 the name of the colour as our 2001 A Classe is a similar shade - "Pacific Blue".

Went to Italy for a long weekend for the wife’s birthday and ended up getting stuck there for an extra day due to bad weather. Didn’t get the roof down once (in May!) On top of that, Mount Etna decided to start erupting while we were doing a cheeky bit of shopping in IKEA so I have a job for tomorrow now… this is the volcanic ash on a car I cleaned last Thursday :)

great experience nonetheless!

Lucky at being unlucky ( like me!) At least the top and windows weren't down and you didn’t wear that white linen suit! Lots of rinsing and suds, minimal wiping….goodness!

I did have a white shirt, which by fate virtue of me picking a terrible AirBnB I never wore. I think the bad weather was disconnected from the eruption, just an amusing coincidence.

I’m glad you had a really nice memorable experience together, sometimes it’s unusual conditions that will bring a smile from you both when you reflect upon it later in life 🙏🏼🌹
