Yeah, I was lucky as well! I bought a new belt and tensioner "just because" and replaced this winter. When I took the old belt and tensioner off I realised that I caught it just in time! It would probably not have survived more than 1k miles or so!

Today I sanded down the alloys as they where slight rusting, paint bubbling and scuffed so desided to change them to a matte black. 3 coats of primer and 5 coats of matte black, got two more to do tomorrow as had to stop due to it getting windy and me getting tired. when they are finished will clean thetire and add blacker.

New petrol cap fitted today as the strap had split.
yesterday I did 328 miles around thr Elan Valley in Wales with 17 other cars from my club. 30 degrees weather and stupendous views. Saw and waved to and got acknowledged by a silver R171 SLK 55 AMG.

Hi,
I noticed during driving, my wheel alignment wasn't perfect...
At the straight on a good road, Benzie tended to go to the right a bit.
I don't do this job at home, myself anymore... "centuries ago" me and my dad did this with a few pieces of rope and good eyes...

So I went to a specialist, Benzie on the Hunter alignment bridge...
The mechanic needed half an hour to set the alignment perfect.
Me and Benzie are happy again.

They are the stock wheels that came with the car. 7 1/2 x 18 on the front, 8 1/2 x 18 on the back.

I'm starting a big tune-up on my 2002 320. Bought it in April and have about 1500 miles on it, just rolled over to 115K total. Plugs are toast, wires have some funny scorch marks and white corrosion. Lots of oil leaking from the head cover gaskets. First step was covering my table with clean white paper, getting a cup of coffee and put some music on. Grateful Dead (Dark Star live in Veneta, Oregon). Next step is searching this site for tune-up hints and tips.

Came out to a dead battery today, hot on the heels of a dead battery last week, at that time I'd fully charged the battery and taken her out for a 25 mile country lane blast.

The fact it happened again could not be a co-inky-dink, and given that the last electrical work performed on the car was the installation of a zonking great amplifier and speakers I head off to the installer and gave them a prod to check the amp is fully powering down.
It was!

Bugger, I don't mess around with batteries I do not know the provenance of, so this one had to go, I checked the battery and it's 5 year guarantee expired 2 months ago, so a new battery has been fitted, if it happens again it'll be off to the ICE installers for a parasitic drain test.

Hope it's okay tomorrow morning as I'm off to have the Zorsts tinkered with.

Nearly forgot, whilst charging the battery today to get her moving I replaced the Siren.
