Other battery manufacturers aspire to the quality of Yuasa. Did the folk who left poor reviews fit the correct battery? Did their alternator fry their battery? Who knows?
Buy from a reputable supplier - not Amazon.
Always check the date of manufacture too (y)

I found poor reviews on multiple sites as to the cause, who knows you only ever get one side of bad reviews. Could be poor installation or other issues or a bad batch. I’ve just ordered a varta e44 for £80.50 with next day delivery which seems like a good deal to me.

Have a look at Yuasa.
WE put a brand new Yuasa on Bevs 350 at Christmas and it has suddenly died 3 times now.
I mean it’s ok one day and totally dead the next. I can’t detect anything pulling charge when the cars ‘asleep’ so I think it’s the battery at fault. We got it from ECP so it will be going back.
I have now fitted an old RAC battery that I had and it seems to be holding charge just fine.

@Tender84 I got Yuasa 12v 80Ah 740A Silver Car Battery YBX5096 (HSB096) from e-bay at the end of Aug, paid via paypal. And as I still have issues with the car it is mostly started on spot and running until 80C marker is hit (sometime longer) but last week I took some modules off the car and the battery with them.
After 24h off the car and not on charge it showed 12.7 V, just before connecting all back in the car. SO will leave the marker here and will share experience after...
On the start - cold morning 11C on the dash, measured on the lighter plug in the car it dropped to 11 V. With nothing ON it keeps 14.4 V again inside the car - lighter plug. Can you share yours after you install it?

Wonder what's going on with Yuasa then? Most unusual. Wonder if they are outsourcing and badging?

I will pm you my voltages rather than derail this thread any further! And after a quick google it seems that Lucas make some of the yuasa batteries in the uk.

So....back on topic.......
After not cleaning my SLK for a month due to every spare moment being spent fitting my new bathroom, today I decided to give her a wash.
I’m never leaving it that long ever again, it took me the best part of 3 hours to get her looking her best again.
Then looked over at Bevs SLK and thought ‘well I’ve got all the cleaning kit out’ so another couple of hours spent on hers.
I just hope it doesn’t rain in the next few days!

After owning my Slk for 5 months I have finally found and silenced the last rattle, when I first got it there were rattles and creaks everywhere but after much guidance from this forum I eliminated all but one that I was convinced was in the drivers side c pillar.

turns out it was the luggage compartment divider, I lithium greased all of the contact points where the divider pivots and my Slk is now completely silent!

The SLK went in for its MOT and a interim service as it's not at 82500. All clear except a fault code that need some help with from our members here.
9223 drivers side airbag; resistance high

s/mod edit-post found HERE
Well I finally got time to get this resolved. Decided to got down to my local German specialist for the first time (always used my local guy for every repair) and they charged £72 for a diagnostic report. After expecting to need a new squib fitting behind the steering wheel for the airbag, which is apparently a common fault, turns out the connector had come apart under the seat. RESULT!
They have advised that if it comes apart again, it will need to be replaced, but this does highlight what benefit you get from a specific Mercedes diagnostic.

Woz,

they look like the mutt's. Where did you get them, and are they safe? ( not in the Dustin Hoffman sense!)
Haven't had any problems with them.
