I was lubricating my roof seals today and I noticed above the rear window seal 2 rusty parts in the roof seal. Please can anybody tell me what are they called, what is their purpose and can I buy replacements

Hi just replaced mine - part numbers are 1707950114 and 1707950214 - cost £2.85 each plus vat - without the screws 0019845629 £0.75 each

Available from the Teeside Merecdes main dealer - you will need you Vin number to order them

I noticed the parts were rusting on my SLK.
I ordered them from Prime parts Superstore $5.40 each & $3.84 for new screws.
They hold the rubber seal in place.

With the enging running I put the top partway down,
unscrewed the part, cleaned the rubber where the new part was going & screwed it down.
