[ERW300ZX]

Hi All,
I just saw this ad for this 2006 SLK in Firemist Red, (my favorite color), and I immediately noticed that the typically black panels between the rear window glass and the C-Pillars are painted body color. (See attached pic) Was this ever done from the factory like that or is this some owner's modification? I have seen postings about fixing faded vinyl on these parts, so maybe this was an attempt at fixing these? I noticed that the model lettering is missing from the left side of the trunk lid as well.
