Hi all,
I purchased my second SLK in 2014 which was on its way to an auction. Could'nt bare to see it go there given its history and purchase price. Previous owner was a lady who had it for most of its past years having acquired it 18 months old. Its averaged 4k a year and its now my project...

I had my first SLK 230 Quartzite interior metallic blue back in 1998 brand NEW!!! what a buzz! Probably one of my greatest regrets was not hanging on to it but hey, I was younger and impulsive then!

Spent the last couple of years getting it sorted on a needs must basis. Instrument panel computer lights had been switched off so lots of minor issues including supercharger not working properly (K2) board need a solder. Just re painted centre consul and touched up interior. Got paint from Volico.de (Awesome) totally impressed with finish. Left with a couple of paint blemishes on the exterior and spots of rust to sort going forward. Trying to keep car more or less original except for radio (Pioneer Dab DEH-X8500AB)
Swapped centre dash consul money draw for cup holders (UK thing I know). Kept original so I can swap over if the inclination takes me. Wheels stripped and re painted and it doesn't see wet weather if I can help it.
Having a lot of fun with it and what a great project car they are, for all their niggles. Thanks to all who I have cribbed, viewed, absorbed, learnt from over the past 2 yrs. I'll try and be proactive going forward.
Cheers
M

Hi and welcome to SLKWorld.com from the UK Midlands - Thanks for joining us and posting an intro! :)

If you fancy taking it a step further (and if you're available mid-week), there's a midweek lunch planned for 18 May - here's the thread about it:

Hi and thanks for the welcome, not great for me either mid week (although very tempting) stunning location and renowned for its views and food... Maybe next time!

Thanks, took a look at your site as I was deliberating on what wind breakers/ options were available. Great idea and liked. For the moment keeping it close to original and acquired a brand new OEM wind break. Who knows what the future holds :)
Hey, we're not going anywhere Legend. If you happen to change your mind, I can make it worth it. :D
