Here is the first video. After spending the first day driving across France and through Belgium and Luxembourg on main roads and motorways, it was a pleasure to drive this twisting road through the Black Forest into Utzenfeld on day 2. @Trev5 leads the way through the rain. Beautiful countryside. :tu::smile:
Was a nice section of road, just a shame it wasn't a sunny day..... :|

Day 3 of our trip and we're in Switzerland following @Trev5 up the Klausen Pass. A bit overcast when we set off, but no rain, and as we climbed towards Balm we passed through the clouds. We arrived at the Hotel Klausen Passhohe and parked up for a refreshment break, and to admire the stunning scenery.

I loved this drive. Passing road works (that would have closed the road and caused a 200 mile detour in Britland), waterfalls spraying onto the road, dodging cyclists and driving in almost zero visibility alongside a guardrail that was more like a handrail (or further up just some stone blocks embedded along the edge of the road), we wound our way up to blue skies and beautiful scenery.

After suitable refreshments at the hotel, we set off down the pass through the clouds. A short distance later we pulled in to admire a great view down the pass and everyone exited their vehicles to take photographs, only for the clouds to roll in again. I was surprised at how quickly the weather changed. So easy to get caught out in these conditions if you were on the mountain.

Driving down to Linthal at the bottom of the pass from Balm. More hairpins and a couple of tunnels, and a cobbled section towards the end.

Includes a wee drive past the other cars that were with us.

Leaving St Christoph behind, we made our way to the services on the A12 just after the Roppener Tunnel. This video is highlights from the route. Nice to follow Gary with his top down

After leaving the A12 services RussL and I came upon a tailback due to an accident so I found a detour through Roppen along the L241 to Sautens. A tight wee road and two picturesque villages.

The final vid from the 11th.

Reposting this vid of highlights of the run from Sautens to Solden. This is due to YT deleting the original as it hadn't been processed properly.

DAY 4! Before leaving Solden we took a drive up the road that passes under the chair lift. Stopping at a view point we enjoyed a great view down over Solden before continuing on to the barriers closing the road. Returning down again we stopped to admire the view of the mountains before dropping back into Solden.

I led the way on the last section and, driving off, too busy looking at the scenery, I didn't notice I was on the wrong side of the road until I met a car coming the other way. :surprise: I've edited out the wee section containing the profanities issued when I realised.

Leaving Solden, "Mabel" leading the way, we headed along the B186 through Zwieselstein, Pill, and Untergurgl to the turn off for the Timmelsjoch Pass.

Arriving at Obergurgl we took the turning onto the Timmelsjoch Pass. Climbing up to the Top Mountain Motorcycle Museum at the Italian border through Hochgurgl, the views of the mountains got better as we gained height.

Here is the 2nd part of our run over the Timmelsjoch Pass. I know the video is a little long, but I hope you'll pour a coffee and enjoy it on a big screen (with a little volume to make the most of Mabel's exhaust note >:D).

It was a shame that we didn't have blue skies and sun, but, with Mabel leading the way, after being overtaken by a cyclist :surprise:, we set off.

Driving between snow banks higher than the car in some parts, numerous hairpins to negotiate, streams of meltwater running across the surface, dodging walkers, cyclists, motorcyclists, and even passing some Porsche tractors heading up the way, this road was great fun to drive and it was good to be able to release some of Mabel's horses. Luckily I didn't get caught behind any cars, not for long anyway >:D.

The scenery is truly spectacular, as is the panoramic view from Gasthof Schonau, where we stopped for refreshments.

The 3rd part of the run over the Timmelsjoch Pass. The run down to and through Moos from the Gasthof Schonau.

After refreshments we set off again, with the sun trying to break through we just followed the traffic and enjoyed the scenery. Like the way that towards the end of the video you can see the rest of the group heading into the hairpins as I leave them.

Day 5 and, due to RussL and I staying in Trafio, and Col and others staying on the Stelvio Pass on the other side of the closed Pass, we took an early morning detour through Glorenza, and crossed the border at Tubre into Switzerland and made for Santa Maria.

Leaving from Santa Maria we headed over the Umbrail Pass.

Located at the most eastern tip of Switzerland, at 2.501 m (8,205 ft) above sea level, the road over the pass is currently the highest paved road in Switzerland, and one of the highest roads of the Alps
It initially climbs through a densely wooded, narrow, bumpy section, before the views of the mountains open up. The road is winding (includes more than 34 hairpin turns) and in many places bordered by a drop of hundreds of meters unprotected by guardrails. The summit is situated very close to the Swiss-Italian border. There, at the custom barracks, the Umbrail road meets the road from Bormio to the Passo dello Stelvio.

Great fun to drive and some magnificent scenery to be seen.

It looks like you had a great time with fantastic views.
You were very calm at 3.57, he really didn’t look before pulling out!
I don't think that either of the bikers were looking in their mirrors from when we got behind them initially so it came as no real surprise when he pulled out. Though I was a little surprised at his pulling out, suffice to say that I called him a few names under my breath. :surprise: **** ****
