Hi All,
Finally could see out of my garage for the snow this year, thought I would see if I could repair the roof system on my '01 SLK320, as the roof got sluggish and stopped working last fall, all in one day. Pump sounded strong, like it wanted to work, but not much action at all. I topped off fluid, but no go. Though about cylinders, ect, and put her away for the winter.

Looking at some tips yesterday here, I saw there was a bypass valve screw on the side of the pump for actuating the roof manually. Although I had never done that, I wondered....and sure enough it took a half turn clockwise and now the roof works great. Maybe vibration, seals shrinking, who knows?

Just thought I would pass this along, as I was starting to look for pumps...:rb

Thanks,
tommy23t
