Some tips to make your visit here more enjoyable:
If you haven’t, please use the 'search' feature at the top right of the page for your questions as they have probably been asked before. Remember, ‘Search’ is your friend.
If you wish to become PM (Private Message) capable, you need 15 posts. To get those 15 posts quickly, just go to the ‘New members introduce yourself here’ section and welcome enough new members to obtain your needed posts to PM.
Want to post a picture? Start a new thread or make a post, click ‘edit’, click on the ‘paper clip’ or ‘advanced’ and/or ‘manage attachments’ then ‘choose file’ then ‘upload’ and ‘submit’! If Iphone pics, you need to rename any additional pics as Iphone names its pics all the same, image.jpg.
Want to ‘like’ or thank’ someone’s comments? Use the ‘like’ button to the right or the ‘Thanks’ button, bottom right of any post you like. This saves you having to comment.
New members should be aware that the 'New Posts' link next to the 'Search' link top right of the info bar is a great way to see all of the posts you have missed since you were on the forum last. Remember to click 'mark forums read' under ‘quick links’ when you leave.

Hi and welcome to SLKWorld.com from the UK Midlands - Thanks for joining us and posting an intro! :)

We have quite a few members in the UK that like to meet up from time to time, although things are a little quieter during the winter months. If you're interested in joining us sometime, just keep an eye on the UK Region section, as we post meeting plans there! :tu:

There's a summary post that I maintain for all UK meets here, and links to examples and pictures from this year's past meets are available here.

Finally, we also recently started plotting where our UK members are - check out the thread for that here: SLKWorld UK & Ireland Members and Meeting Points Map

Thank you

Welcome from Surrey. What a lovely Christmas present. Hope your search is successful!

Don't be afraid to ask questions about proposed purchases. If you can, get the VINs of cars you're considering and one of the forum moderators will help you assess the options they will have been fitted with.

Good luck!

Welcome from Wirral, England.

Your just about in range of some of the locations for meets.
Check out where we were this year (many repeat) and get a feel for what goes on.
List http://www.slkworld.com/united-kingdom-region/313178-2016-uk-meet-calendar.html

Those who go have a great time.
There's also a couple of weekends away in that listing.

Definitely do your datacard checks before agreeing to buy.
also use the checklist to assess any potential purchase:
http://www.slkworld.com/general-discussion/68666-new-used-vehicle-pickup-checklist.html

Make sure you check the roof function. Faults can be easy or expensive to fix.
You'd have to make a judgement call.

One of the easiest threads to join in with is the Ride of The Month.
Free entry until the 15th, then normally a poll to pick a winner after that.
No car to enter yet, but you can still help pick a winner. They get prizes.

Wish you a good & successful hunt and look forward to seeing the wifes car in a future RoTM.

Nearly forgot.
Make sure you check out the SmartTop link from Jbanks.
It's the best and most useful mod for the UK.

Hi and welcome from Bristol, U.K. Which SLK to go for I guess depends a lot on budget and what it'll be used for. I went 350 as not using it every day but actually surprised how good it is on fuel. Good luck with your search.

Thanks to everyone

Thanks for all the friendly welcome messages and useful hints. Seem like a great forum and really looking froward to sealing the deal on a car and getting involved.

Thanks
