Sunhilde took us wine touring today, and we encountered two SLKs. The first was a silver R171 SLK350 or 55AMG headed eastbound on K.L.O. Road about 11:00; we were a few cars back and had to turn off before we could catch up. The second was a silver R170 SLK320 in the parking lot of the White Spot at the corner of Harvey & Dilworth at about 1:00. That one, being stationary, got a business card.

If you get the chance take the West Side Road from West Kelowna to Vernon. Very pretty drive along the Okanagan. Satisfying twisties and elevation changes with frequent views too.

Didn't do that one, Tom. We came in from Kamloops via Salmon Arm, which despite the rain was quite pretty and a fun road. Fifteen years ago when we visited, we came in from the east side after having come down from Revelstoke via the lakes to the east and the little ferry crossings. Today we took the Connector and the Coq back to Kamloops and around to Cache Creek, as that was the fastest route to get to Lillooet and the Fort Berens Winery. Nancy drove the rest of the way int Whistler this afternoon.

Sounds like you two are doing it right! Drive safe!!?
Thanks, Tom! This trip has been a mix of old territory and new for us. Today we've added the distinction of having now entered Lillooet from all three directions; south, west, and now north. Until today we had not driven the Connector, nor the Coq north of Merritt so those have been checked off now too. With all the climbing along those routes, it wasn't until we were out towards Cache Creek that the "After Start" fuel economy today topped 30mpg.
