To quote Clarkson:

"You know you're getting old when you wake up in the morning and part of you that worked perfectly well yesterday, doesn't work today."

Don't worry about getting to 50 mate, just concentrate on trying to remember what you had for breakfast... ;)

A Prayer for Growing Old Gracefully
Thou knowest better than I myself that I am growing older and will someday be old. Keep me from the fatal habit of thinking I must say something on every subject and on every occasion.

Release me from craving to straighten out everybody's affairs. Make me thoughtful but not moody; helpful but not bossy. With my vast store of wisdom, it seems a pity not to use it all; but Thou knowest, that I want a few friends at the end. Keep my mind free from the recital of endless details; give me wings to get to the point. Seal my lips on my aches and pains; they are increasing, and love of rehearsing them is becoming sweeter as the years go by.

I dare not ask for improved memory, but for a growing humility and a lessening cock-sureness when my memory seems to clash with the memories of others. Teach me the glorious lesson that occasionally I may be mistaken.

Keep me reasonably sweet, for a sour old person is one of the crowning works of the devil. Give me the ability to see good things in unexpected places and talents in unexpected people; and please make sure they update their profile with location and vehicle information.

The big five O was the only milestone that bothered me. I took my once every nine year annual physical (the doctor didn't see the humor) and the laundry list of problems was a bit long (ignorance was bliss). I compare it to owning a car that is 50 years old and not taking it to the shop on a regular basis and having sticker shock of the required repairs which would not have been so bad had it been spread out over time. Now I take an annual physical. lol Also, the realization that I have used up 2/3 of my life was a bit disheartening. Now I look at the positive side - I just put 30 year shingles on the roof and have the pleasure of knowing that will probably be the last roof job I pay for. lol Now I try to enjoy each and every day by dropping the top, putting on the helmet and cruising, or just tinkering in my shop.

:confused:Age here is just like at a online dating site. You say you're 25 and we assume you are. Just don't slip up later and say you remember when the original Wham-O Hula Hoop came out or you remember watching the Jets win Super Bowl III live. I'm a mere 24, with the wisdom of someone much older, say 62.:biglaugh:

Berliner.....IMHO you spend way too much time obsessing over your age. As an alternative, you could be spending that same valuable time developing your "dirty old man" self!

PS......never under estimate the pleasures that come with age and wealth! Ask yourself this simple question...."Why is it that mostly old gray haired men and young hot women drive Lambos and Bentleys?"
