First thing I know is to get the supercharger pulley upgrade and a tune...what else should I do? Me and my friend have a little friendly rivalry going on...something to do in my spare time..his car only has intake...I want to make my car faster to make it fun! Any help would be appreciated! :)

faster is nice but really not going to happen but you can make it pretty!

mods you should do:
smarttop
clear and tinted side markers
led license plate bulbs
led parking lights
carbon fiber on the C pillars
oem windscreen or lighted/etched windscreen

So, you can have an '02 Mustang (just like the other 5M out there) and go a little faster or your '99 SLK and maybe see another one like it once a week.

Easy for me - of course, that's easy to tell, I just bought one :) albeit a 2003, not a '99.

My first SLK was a 2000 SLK230. My friend bought a new S2000 literally a week before I did. Whenever we were at a red light, we would play around. As a supercharged car, my 230 (5 speed manual) took off faster than his S2000. However, I found myself shifting into 3rd just as he hit is powerband, revving to 9k rpm in 2nd gear, that's when he would always pass me.

With a rev range like that, it's hard to beat. He was completely stock and so was I, with the exception of a K&N filter drop in.

If you've already done the pulley intake and tune, then there's very little else you can do to that engine without spending big bucks. I would assume that with those mods you would be closer to his 240ish hp but not quite. The S2000 is a lighter car with a stronger engine and a much higher rev range.

You can get lighter rear wheels and lessen your unsprung weight, a different exhaust (maybe good for 1/2 a horsepower), take out your spare tire and jack/tools - maybe good for a few more pounds of weight.

Then again You can always shoot some NOS and just get it over with, I suppose. a 100lb shot should close the gap between you and him, or lengthen the gap, whichever one ends up happening. It could also permanently close the gap in your spark plugs if you're not careful.

That is soo true about being like everyone else with a mustang..I've only seen like 2 slks in the last month! Lol..so I'm gonna pass on the mustang and mod my car..saying I won't keep up just gives me motivation! Ill get him! Someone said these cars have forged pistons..maybe a little 75 shot of nitrous and be done with it ;)

Since you asked 1/4 mile, 320=14.8, 94MPH, 32=13.2, 108MPH, s2000=13.7, 99MPH. All are stock. A 230 with a pulley kit is a little faster in the 1/4 than a stock 320, but still behind an S2000. As usual, How fast do you want to go? How much money do you have? A 32 is fast enough for any sane person on the street without any mods..

Dependent upon what you've spent, a 150 shot isn't out of the question (get the one with the multiple jets, 75/100/150). Even if you crater the engine, finding a wrecked one and replacing it would be lots of fun.

As I said, dependent upon what you spent for the car :) your need for speed and your pocket book.
