Been in Germany now for five years with 12-24 months stilll to go before I return to the US. Just had the car inspected last week and was told the inside of the tires on the rear are well worn. Although they passed, I am looking for recommendations on tires I can purchase locally for summer tires and for next winter. Any members in Germany or other Europen countries help me out? Wet traction in the summer and snow in the winter are more important than mileage.

There is a new Michelin out it's called CrossClimate. Just one set of tires for summer/winter drive.
I have no experience myself as I don't need winter tires in Flanders. It only snows once in a half decade.

What tires do you have? The Firestones are a bit slippery around 4*C. Here in Wiesbaden we have occasional snow but more often just wet roads on mornings when it is at or below 0.

I use my Hankook ventus v112 all year round and I'm quite happy with them, not much snow here, but it does get cold enough and plenty of wet roads, have a look on Pnuesonline..

Certainly the UK gets it rain. I was in Ringwood, Hampshire area staying with friends over Christmas. It was wet in the New Forest when we walked the dogs.

I will give them a look. Thanks.

I got new Continental Sport Contact in december. We had some heavy rain the last couple of weeks and the feeling on the road is fine.
Last week it was minus 3-4 C but not slippery on the road so I really can't judge.
