This '55 is more than advertised...

So I saw this on eBay:

2005/05 MERCEDES-BENZ SLK55 AMG 5.4 WITH OVER £4000 OF OPTIONS | eBay

Now it doesn't mention it in the advert, but this has* the full Kleeman stage 3, including remap, cams, manifolds and exhaust system. I enquired about this car about 12 months ago when it was for sale with 101k on the clock for £16k.

I spoke to the previous owner it's been lavished with cash, so it's certainly an interesting car, and as it's not mentioned in the advert, someone could get more than than expect or aware of !

*Note I say "has" - it could be "had" - nothing to suggest it wasn't stripped of its bits before being traded in....

That's quite incredible, because I was also looking at this car with the intent to buy. The only thing that put me off was the mileage - it's a shame that I didn't give the dealer a ring and ask more. I spent a long time looking for a car with mileage between 70 to 80,000 ish, and managed to pick mine up Wednesday 6th January from a dealer in High Wycombe...
More than likely they aren't even aware.

I saw alot of the history/paperwork for this car - it was based in Germany for a while, and there is lots of parts/dealer/specialist paperwork in German. I had someone translate it, who said there seemed to be quite alot of brake parts, which suggests it may have seen some track work. This didn't bother me, as it seems to have been looked after very, very well - it was just the price (£16k, at the time) which seemed a bit toppy.

Edit - I also saw a rolling road printout that suggested it was only getting <380bhp at the fly after the stage 3....this is alot less than Kleeman claim. I couldn't find a reciept for the cams, which is the last thing the owner claims to have had done to get it to stage 3, but he assured me it was definately done and there should be evidence in the paperwork. He has no reason to lie as he's no interest in the car...but no paperwork and low RR figure....

I wouldn't be worried about mileage, these cars lap it up - as always, it's how it's been looked after in this time that's important!
