There is no doubt that guys from HRE Wheels and GE Additive companies, have experienced lots of difficulties and faced numerous challenges before their incredible invention has been created, yet, whatever the odds, the future of wheels design has been perfected, released and presented these days in Germany to the wide public.

HRE3D+ is the new prototype of first-ever 3D-printed wheels developed as a result of the collaboration of 2 remarkable companies, which have committed themselves to the creation and engineering of wheels of the whole new level. Produced on two Arcam EBM machines, using exclusive EBM technology (a type of 3D-printing), manufactured from the sturdy, yet lightweight titanium, that features highly-sophisticated design, they will provide any vehicle application with both: the impressive durability and one of a kind look.

Read more on these stunning prototype wheels created from an advanced titanium powder and find out the details of the manufacturing process here:

Wow! What a great collaboration. Crazy to think all the parts we’re going to be seeing in wheel designs and other components. Industrial designer & futurist Syd Mead (Blade Runner, Tron, etc) said that someday we will reprint portions of our cars just to update them, much the way we change clothes. Looks like we’re getting there.
